Wife and Rolex

So my family and i recently went and got our Xmas pics done as we do every year and we got the photos back yesterday. I looked at the family shot and said 'Luka (the youner boy) doesn't look too happy but at least the guy took a nice photo of the Rolex'.
All i got back was a big sigh, roll of the eyes and 'You and your bloddy Rolex'.

Anyway here is a couple of scanned pics.

I know that sigh and that look!

Beautiful family picture though, and the shot of the kids by themselves is great.

No not like that but close, but then again I didn't ask the photographer to make sure the watch is in the pic, if i did I think i'd get a worse look.

No Rolex, not interested in watches full stop. She is very understanding about the 'sickness' most of the time.

Girls just don't appreciate it. My 'watch stuff' is not allowed out of the spareroom and I get the eye roll on a daily basis!

My wife likes Rolex for me or men in general , I gave her my mothers mid size SS/WG DJ and I recently found it in a box with other stuff she doesn't use . She thinks they are too "bland , boring " so In a desperate efford to make her think again I bought the "Leopard" Daytona that she will get for Xmas present .... I hope the first "bite" will get her ..

My wife & I have been married for 26 years now and she has always given me a hard time about the fact that I love watches.

Hey, I even did the first 2 years of a watchmaker's apprentership when I left school. There's no way I wouldn't love them.

Whenever I bought a new watch, I had to wait ages before wearing it in front of her so when she would ask if it was new, I could always say I'd had it for ages.

The good news is that she is now coming around to my way of thinking - at long last. However, it is getting expensive for me.

A few years ago I bought her a vintage Omega Geneve Dynamic - one of my favourites from the 1970s. (Well that's the period when I was doing my apprentership.)

She now has her own collection of watches I've bought her over the years.

Anyway, the other day she dropped a huge hint that she really loved some of the Skagen watches and even I understood what she was saying, so today I bought her one from their titanium series for Christmas.

I hope it's the one she likes.

Nice looking family. You're a lucky man. I usually get the eye roll when I answer in the affirmative when my wife asks me if I'm going to wear my sub to bed. Haaaah! As if I'm not!!
