TAG Heuer V4 into production next year

I'm sure you guys have seen the pix from Basel, and lots of pundits and wannabe pundits prognosticated that it would never go into production.

TAG Heuer has said this belt driven mechanical watch will go into production next year. I would hazard a guess the price TAG will be well over US$10,000.

Will you have to take it in to your local automobile repair shop to have it serviced?

Yes a interesting concept, much like Tourbillons we can build them so we will.
If it was about £10 or under might give it a go, for the sheer novelty and
the best part the blue hands

The concept is phenominal and I believe they use the world's smallest 'fan belts' in a mechanical contraption. That's one displayface I could like. But the price will be ridiculous!

Will you have to change the timing belt every 100,000 kms??

I wonder if the valves would smash on the pistons if the belt breaks? My wife's car is like that (throw away the enginer if that happens). Why are we discussing cars in the watches section anyway?

Okay, to put a stop to the hijacking... I wonder if this thing would sound like 'tickatickatickatickatickatickatickatick' like a normal mechanical watch or if it whirs (is that a word?).

So, it's okay when someone hijacks my threads, but if I do it........oh whatever.

Yes, whirr is a word, but I would spell it whirr (I think both are acceptable).

Interesting concept indeed, but not something I'm particularly attracted to......sorry.

LMAO!!!! I was hoping you'd take that bait, Al.

I agree, horologically speaking. Interesting concept, but not something I'd want on my wrist.

That second picture looks like a micro-taperecorder from one of those cheap spy films during the 007 era.
