HELP - Problem With Submariner Bezel - 16610
I took off the bezel and was a little rough and the little metal clicker thingy went flying 6 ft across the room.
I found it OK, but now the bezel is turning very stiff. Like not gliding smoothly like before. What can I do? do I have to get the little metal thing replaced or are there any tricks I can do? |

I have the same issue, however I cant find my clicker. I snagged mine while outside and pulled the Bezel off in tall weeds and was lucky to find the Bezel. I saw a post awhile back about how to remove the Bezel and replace. Still looking for that. I'm sure I'll be headed to the Rolex dealer.

Here's Jocke's link for a tutorial on how to take off a bezel
http://www.vikbobil.se/bezel.html If you can't find your spring, they're around $10 at an AD. Some might even give it to you for free and install it for you too

I have no problem removing the bezel, in fact, I took it off and it still looks like it did before, but the bezel does not spin as nice as it used to, maybe it got bent ever so slightly...

Hmnn, dont know? I dropped mine off at the local Rolex dealer. They said it would take a few days to get it reinstalled because of their backlog. Cost will be $30. The lady that helped me went in to talk to the watchmaker, and then told me I was missing both springs?

When taking off the bezel it's imperative not to bend it or distort it which is easy to do if you don't kow what your doing. If you have the bezel off lay it numbers up on glass surface if it rocks at all it's distorted and has to be bent back into shape or it will bind up and not turn smoothly Rik

Hi Rikki,
Is removing a 5512 bezel the same as shown above in the pictorial? Looking at the bezel ring on my father’s 5512 it does not appear to be perfectly flat (seems to curve a little) Not sure if it is slightly bent or just flexing a little as it sits in place. I would like to take it off so I can take some pictures of the bottom side of the bezel ring and insert. Last thing I want to do is foo-bar it or the crystal. Oh, and if a bezel ring is distorted as you noted, how would it be bent back into shape? Thanks |
