If only these guys can try this beast on for a week. The thickness, the weight, the unproportional bracelet, the "stupid" ceramic bezel insert, the over-engineering crap will just disappear. All that's left is a beautiful, very comfortable and well designed dive watch out there right now.

I own both, and love both, but given a choice, I'd take the DSSD any day.

What a photo! Nice watch

Haha. Are people really trying to make the argument that the depth rating on the DSSD is overkill for 99% of the people who own it?

Can any Sub owners here tell me how many times you've been down to 1000 feet?

Thanks.

As an aside, I do love just how polarizing the DSSD is. Maybe that's why it's my favorite Rolex. It doesn't look like all the rest.

As I have said on a previous occasion I simply love the Seadweller.I am now on my 5th along with my Deepsea. This one will be passed down to my boy when it is time. It is for me a classic and always will be.
It is not a Sub without the cyclops. That comment is rubbish. For its day (hence classic) it was the doggies whatsits and always will be. Try pressure testing a sub to 125% of 4000ft back in the eighties. Not a chance.

Exactly!! If the number of guys who have actually gone down to 1000 feet can be counted on the fingers of your one hand.......kinda makes you wonder how many have ventured down to 12,800 feet?

Even if someone were to produce a mechanical dive watch that goes deeper than the DS, I don't think Rolex would respond for many years. The company views itself as the industry leader and trendsetter which others copy and follow - not one that copies or follows others.

Wow! A single red DSSD! How much above the MSRP of a regular DSSD?
