SD "D" or "M"
Guys, need your help. I've got 2 offers on the table - a D new with stickers/tags, etc... for 4990 or an M for 6K. With re: M, I was told it is new, but unknown re: stickers.
Please keep in mind these are coming from grey dealers. |

Get the D. There's no difference between the watches, and for 1k less, you can't argue with it

The difference - I don't know if there are stickers on the "M. At least the "D" dealer assured me the watch is 'unworn'. |

EDIT: Just read the add-on regarding the IWC. Why not sell it here on TRF? I bet you could do better than the trade-in that you are getting from either dealer. Heck, you could probably do better on Fleabay

Be careful with the cost-to-change.
Both SDs are a few hundred over the norm. If you've been underbid on the IWC then you may wish to consider your options, though there are risks in selling/buying of course.

I agree. Both are crappy deals. That means you IWC is barely worth anything at all. Just the D alone, you can probably find one for less without any trade at all.

I don't believe any SD's have the rehaut engraving, even the V serials.

If you are getting a good price for the trade-in, and you are happy with that...the M is the better deal.. If neither are from an AD, then neither are actually "new"..
If you are going to wear it, why do you care if it has stickers on it - go for the newest model.....

At this price, you might as well look for a V. Otherwise you should get a M or D for less than what you quoted

No SD's have rehaut engraving.
No SD 4000's have the engraving on the rehaut. On most Rolexes the rehaut is the same piece of metal as the midcase; on the SD it is an entirely separate piece of metal. It is essentially a primitive ringlock. If you find an SD with rehaut engraving, its a replica.

No engraving on the rehaut on the SD ... I totally love it .... it is the least bastardized watch ....I am glad they left it alone ....and I am so glad it is discontinued and not SUPERSIZED, BLOCKSIZED, RAPPERIZED or VICTIMIZED ....it has gone down to the dark depths where it belongs ... never to be touched or affected by the new direction rolex has taken..... now ...out of respect ... lets all lower our heads in silence for 3 secs .....
