Do AD's have prior knowledge of new Watches??
Went to my local AD yesterday to try on a WG Sub [Which was awesome by the way ] and got chatting to their watchmaker [40 years experience]
He said to hold off buying till after the Watch fair . He said there might be some surprises there with a possibility of a new Pepsi ? New Sub for sure. Just wondered if AD's have prior knowledge of releases , in order to prepare the shop and literature etc... Any thoughts?? http://www.rolexforums.com/images/smilies/thinking.gif |

Well its been my experience world wide that many have little knowledge of past,or current models,so would doubt if any future models.

I think he only guessed about the new models, just like we do here. It would be logical and totally expected move from Rolex to roll out the SS Sub Ceramic, the Pepsi/Coke GMT IIC, the updated Explorer II, etc. etc. It's not that tough to guess about such things, and it doesn't require an AD status

As someone who works in one, I've been basing predictions from on here The sales Reps in the UK are always tight lipped when it comes to new models, and they are the only reliable source of information from Rolex. Oh well

Rolex closely guards any advance release of models before the Basel Watch Fair..
It is unlikely that any AD has any first-hand knowledge............ they are simply a retail shop for a product that they have no part in producing or marketing.........

My hubby and I went to an AD yesterday in San Antonio and we were pleasantly surprised to find a knowledgeable manager who spent a considerable amount of time with us to answer our questions. This forum has been great but seeing things in person is so much better! My hubby is on this forum, and I have been lurking vicariously, and decided to get my own account. |

Most ADs would have enough information to print on the back of a postage stamp!!
