Can't believe it.

Chipped! Can't fathom how this happened. RSC guy says it'll cost around 4 bills to replace but if I wait a few years and get it done with regular service it'll be cheaper. Bah! At least it's not too noticeable in person...

Ouch..

You may be able to get it changed at half that at an independent..

Most of the time, Rolex will want to do a service on a broken crystal to ensure no small bits have got into the movement............

Should be cheap and easy to replace with a quality aftermarket crystal. Then when it gets RSC serviced they will just replace the crystal with a Rolex one anyway for the lesser cost like the AD said.

That sucks! If it were me, however, I'd get the crystal replaced now vs. later on. I just couldn't bare to look at that beautiful watch and have my eyes drawn to the chip everytime. Just me, though...

Man that is a bummer. If only it was plastic, then you could easily polish out the little brush that would have been there instead of a chip.

Well, if you had it done by RSC you'd at least get a new lens with the laser etched crown

Ouch! I personally would have to shell out the 4 bills immediately. That is definitely a downer. Great looking watch though.

Acrylic plexi doesn't look so bad anymore, does it? :P

400$? Usually they charge 195$ in Canada when it's part of the normal service.

Ah, must have made a mistake that sounds about right. It was a while ago I was too lazy to take photos and post about it right after it happened :)

Im sorry to see that happened.
If that were me, i would want it fixed right away. It would bother me to look at my collection and see one with a chipped crystal.
Best of luck with it!

Mario, $400 seems like a lot to pay to replace a crystal ........ but that chip would really bother me to the point that I probably would not want to wear the watch.

Everyone's nightmare. Good luck in what you decide to do. If it keeps you from wearing it/enjoying it I would replace it.
