Rolex Adventures

So do you wear your Rolex watch as a piece of gear for your travels and adventures, or do you travel and have adventures because of your Rolex watch inspirations?

He's got the same watch I wear on my travels (except for the bezel, of course). But mine are mostly of the armchair variety.

When I do travel, the GMT is always with me, especially when I cross time zones.

Along with all the other features, a GMT may be used as a compass for navigation.

Set both your hour hand and 24 hour hand to "local" time. Point the hour hand towards the sun and the 24 hour hand will now be pointing north. In the southern hemisphere it will be pointing south.

Or, with the 24 hour hand set to local time, point the 24 hour hand at the sun and the 12 o'clock position now points north. South in the southern hemisphere

Of course the watch must be in the laid flat position.

You're never lost with your GMT.

I believe this is what Sir Ranulph Fiennes is referring to when he says he navigatates with his Rolex. I think the shadow thing is a bit of "hocus pocus".

Although I have never tried to scuba dive, I would love to put my Sub to good use one of these days and vacation someplace where I could go on a dive.
