I tried to order a new 16610 from my AD about 2 months ago and was told that there are no more available from Rolex. They do have an LV in stock on which I am waffling. They also told me it would be no problem getting another LV if this one gets sold. Again, that was 2 months ago. I don't know what the status is today.

Well its been reported several times on TRF that V case stamp was the last of the 16600 SD but we have posts stating SDs with the new type serial. And its 12 months since being reported to be discontinued at Basel, but its still be produced. And I would have thought the same for the 16610, quite a few ADs have little knowledge about the products they sell, and would have very little knowledge about the future.

SD's with new type serial numbers??? The first I had heard - if so that would be a bit of a shock - do you have the post showing this?

Thanks in advance Padi

I think that the hiccup seen at the end of the year may be attributed to the changeover to the new serial system... as well as the fact that Rolex SA takes most of the month of December off for holiday..

This thread was about a Sub Date model.

I missed in your post that you asked about an SD model.

Over here, I see a lot of 14060M's but no 16610's at the local AD.

Boy am I glad I bought one before they dissapear. I have been eyeing this forum since I bought mine and not 1 is up for sale. I landed a m series with a microscopic dent on the bezel you need a magnifier to see it. Its pretty much excellent condition and m series serial which I think was the last to come out for this discontinued model. I am very happy with my purchase and I am going to sit on this watch until the price sky rockets. By then I will most likely be too much in love with my precious to part with it anyways.

Here in HK still no problem to get one in AD.
After 8% discount, HK$40940 ~ US$5,282.

Someone said that HK is the most cheapest place to buy Rolex

Was just at my neighborhood ad today and saw a v serial in the case and was told that he just got it in the other day. V 16610. Hopefully for the people that want them there may be a few more to be had. Going to try to find one on the used market if i ever want one.

It's probably the most common moderately high-end sports watch ever produced. Not even the 16800/168000 are fetching good second hand prices even after 20 years out of production

My AD has them on the shelf now--along side the LV and SD. All there to be had!

The new sub and old will run concurrent

Just like the seadweller ,the old and new sub will run concurrent for at least 6 months no need to panic.
