I would only buy a different brand with pvd plating and keep the Sub original

That might not look so hot, though with the black PVD meeting up with the SS watch case...

Here's what a PVD TT Black Sub would look like if you kept the bezel gold... Darth Vader's Going Out Watch...

Comex Sub

A friend of mine had a Comex Sub that looked exactly like the replica on that link you posted. I thought it was the real comex sub cuz of the yellow. I think it had a mineral crystal. Anyway, that pvd black with gold is cool. Darth Vader would be proud!
