Will be passing through BKK in a couple of weeks enroute to Laos.

Thanks.

I bought an Omega watch there at an OMega Flagship store. Bangkok has some very high class shopping centers, no problems at all.

So anyone got any info?

Laos is a beatiful country. Capitol city is quite and peaceful and many colonial bldgs. Some very nice 5 star resorts to stay at as well. MAny great French restuarants with great food!

Plus may be getting a job there. (hopeful)

Best of luck on the new job assignment! I'm sure the capitol is nice, I was thinking more about the country side, land mines, Viet cong, etc., etc.

Prices in thailand are high for rolexes. I looked at a sub there a few months back and the prices were higher than the US even after we bargained with them. Just go visit JJ in Auckland!

not necessarily, what if he was in SEA anyways? I'm sure New Zealand wouldn't be hard to get to... from Laos or Thailand.

The only Rolex watches you can get in Iraq are the fakes down at the Haji Market. Run about $25- $100!

The Military PX used to sell Rolex watches, but they stopped doing that in mid 90s. You can still order Omegas at very good prices through the PX.

Most guys here that have Rolex watches, buy them when on R & R in Dubai, Qatar, or when passing through Kuwait. I almost bought a Pepsi GMT in Bangkok couple of years ago, but instead bought an Omega Seamaster Prof.

SEA = Southeast Asia

Actually been thinking hard about going to New Zealand. Work with a couple of Kiwis who have invited me down there for hunting. Suppose to be some of the best hunting in the world! From all they tell me about NZ, worried I may end up setteling down there.
