Long E 1665 ?

I could be wrong on this, as its a top seller and "back from Rolex"

The E looks wrong, going ony off info here on TRF.

Thats at least good, in respect to the original buyer not being scammed.....

See what we can do this time around.

These are all coming with purported Rolex HK Service Papers

Thanks for looking.

The "Long E" 1665's (and I've seen a 1655) all accompanied by what is represented as authentic Rolex HK service paper.... So either Rolex HK is not looking at the case issue during service, or the papers are not as represented for the watch.

If there are any TRF members in Hong Kong, it would be an extremely valuable service to the vintage community to go there personally, with images of the service papers from some of these watches sold/for sale, and find out what the heck is going on.

Or a good watch is passed through RSC HK to have minimal work done just to obtain papers, THEN the watch is re cased, rebuilt etc and offered for sale as original with original RSC papers. The genuine parts then go to make up another, good watch, albeit without papers but since its mostly made from genuine parts it will stand closer scrutiny.

These sellers have multiple outlets and several user ids with which to work with, and they are essentially double their money on each transaction.

It will take some time to get rid of them, since the cases only cost about 200.00 USD and then sell for up to 6,000.00 USD.

I have seen these service papers sold BLANK in various places. FYI Service papers can be easily faked and hold no value to me unless part of a verified package.

Very interesting to note that the seller says: " ATTENTION " The watch case number is not clear and Rolex service center re mark other number into the case back call " RHKN480 " He does not show a picture of the serial number on the case but does show the case back.
I have never seen this before has anybody else?

The clasp is stamped VB for 1977 BUT the flip lock is of a latter example (grooved)

Or another option, counterfeit HK service papers - which could be easily counterfeited - to go with the counterfeit watches.

Err buddies...it won't surprise Orchi a wee bit...
should there be several cases of 1665 in this instance...
for having the same S/Nos...

Likewise with 5513/5512/1680 etc etc...

The genuine cases could have been sent to RSC for a small job...
or for replacement of accessory items...
just to obtain "RSC papers"...

Later the movement/Dial/Hands etc could have been swapped out...
into the FAKEEE cases...possibly punched with the relevant Ref/Serial nos...
to be sold with the "RSC papers"...

That's not anything to do with rocket science either...
