New Kermit in the family

I recently sold the Platinum Ladies YM finally privately, and after much thought, since that was kind of the last in a series of tasks to do regarding cleaning up old business from my prior marriage, I walked into my AD and was struck by the Kermit. I thought about it for a few days, and then just walked in and got her.

I am thrifty and already have a GMT ll, and personally have a hard time justifying having 2 Rolexes for myself, but I must say, I REALLY love my new Kermit. It is a Z series, and very handsome.

I was going to mention this on my last post on another thread, but it seemed inappropriate there. I didn't get it for rarity, but rather for the maxi dial at night and I love the green bezel. But I will say that my AD only gets one a year, and she called me to tell me about it. I think it is pretty cool.

I will try to get some photos.

Congrats on the LV! It's a great watch, and my favorite of the modern pieces. The maxi-dial is so user friendly in less than ideal lighting. I find the green bezel attractive. It will make a great compliment to the GMT!!

I have a bunch of tedious stuff do today before I can play tennis, but will try to get photos later. I realized, however, that I referred to Kermit as a "she". Kermit is really a "he" according to the world of Rolexademia which has a culture that came up with this kind name. Kermit the frog actually turned 50 in 2005. I don't know if this watch emerged in 2005 or 2006, but if it was 2005, the name is more than a mere friendly reference to the green frog, but has intrinsic value to shared brothers on their shared 50th birthday. Was it 2005 guys?

I will try to photo "him" later in the day or tomorrow. I have to get my dogs' shots and that kind of thing this morning.

Well, Art, since the Submariner was first introduced to the world in 1953, its 50th anniversary fell in 2003 and that's the year the "kermit" was introduced.

Congrats on the watch. It's a nice token of your new life. But sorry about your dogs broh. I just don't know how you can be so casual about it.

Dog shots....not dogs shot. Like rabies shots, so they can get their licenses. I wasn't planning on shooting them, although when the bishon pees in the house I would like to....

My dog's licensed, but I swear I'm not letting her drive anywhere...

By the way Tomko, thanks for the thoughts. I am sure I am not the first person on this serve to have had a divorce. And this very much was a gift to myself for getting through it...the green looked like the Spring of life to me, and St. Patricks day is around the corner. It was a 15 year marriage, and a very complex and very expensive divorce, both financially and spiritually. I virtually disappeared from the list for a year as I was consumed with the whole thing and keeping my practice and family running. But this was a nice gift to myself, and I am a real stainless steel kind of guy as I am afraid I would scratch the hell out of gold. And I am back to bug you guys on a more regular basis.

This is a very positive message. You will always cherish your LV as a symbol of all that you went through to get you to where you are today. It takes a lot of guts to do what you've done. It takes a lot of strength too. I wonder how many have thought about pulling the ejection seat but took the path of least resistance instead. You took the pain over a year but now you can have a life full of gain. You should rightly be proud of yourself. You've demonstrated that you recognized that you made a mistake and you did what you had to do to move forward. Congratulations Brother Art, and welcome back home.
