Buying Rolex Bracelets

Is it possible to buy an official Rolex Oyster Bracelet somewhere or can an AD order one for you? Thinking of getting a Datejust, but would not mind having a Explorer 1 bracelet on it, I like the brushed SS and the Safety clasp.

Well in the UK you most certainly can,now Rolex USA only allow the proper bracelet to that particular watch. Now the DJ Oyster lock, and the Explorer fliplock clasps are interchangeable but the SEL on Explorer is not,so all you would need is the fliplock clasp.

Does anyone know if you can purchase an official bracelet or a bezel insert from the RSC in Bangkok, or if they would swap out one of the above and give documentation that they did the swap?

An AD can order one for you, plus you can haggle on the price to. If you buy direct From Rolex Service center it's full retail, unless your an AD.

Outside of the USA, there's a whole different Rolex world. I can't speak for the present, but as of 10 years ago, I was able to purchase and have installed a new dial on both my ex-wife's and my Rolex AND they returned the other dial. And, 18 years ago, I was able to purchase an extra bracelet for my watch without turning in the old one.

These activities took place in Switzerland, Hong Kong and Bermuda.

So, if you're going to Bangkok, I think the odds are pretty good you might be able to accomplish what you're after...mostly because you're not in the Rolex USA jurisdiction.

The SEL explorer bracelet does not fit the Datejust. The old model Datejust any way. You can get a oyster bracelet that fits your Datejust just not SEL.

Why does the SEL bracelet found on the Explorer 1 not fit the Date Just? I thought they were both the same case sizes?

Case size maybe same....but that does not determine the different case shape at the point where the lugs meet up.

That's the point of actual difference, so the SEL bracelets will not go into the space between the lugs of a case designed for a non-SEL bracelet.
