My next Rolex - suggestions pl.
O.K., some of you may have read my "next Panerai" thread, but I've decided - my next watch has to be a Rolex.
My current harem - G&S Datejust, dark blue dial, fluted bezel. G&S Datejust, white dial, pl. bezel. G&S Sub, bl. dial SS Sub, no date, bl. dial. Steel Daytona, white dial. I'm thinking another Sub. Possibly the one with the bezel bl. and red., but am not decided. Am taking my time on this, as it will probably be my last watch purchase for a long time. I would like to know what you would add, and why. Thanks, Larry. Your suggestions can be anything, not just a Sub... |

I reckon a SS GMT would fit into your collection a treat. And you can change the bezel, all black, pepsi, black and red etc.
or Maybe wait a month and see if Rolex release new GMT in SS, looks a bit like this mock up: |

I think you need a GMT Master. In SS with a black bezel if it has to be all steel. BUT my real choice would be the new TT 50th Anniv GMT with the more muscular case, bigger crown and crown guard, new 3186 movement, Maxi dial, ceramic bezel, improved Oyster bracelet with solid end links. It's a masterpiece.

Miner - re- the new GMT release, I'll have to check the Rolex website - wasn't aware of it. The GMT anniversary sounds worth a look too. But I'm really thinking ss right now due to budget considerations... |

Wait till Basel 2007 and if there is a new SS GMT II as some people say, go for it. If not get the GMT II with either black or black/red bezel.....

I vote GMT, you can change the bezel to any color combo you want, and, fits in with the subs you are already looking at.
Or, save for what you really want and don't settle for now because of budget restraints. PAtrick

Thanks to all for yr. excellent input.
greenfan - the GMT red & black bezel would fit well into my "harem", since it would be different, in a good way. Blown wide - I've thought about what you mention, saving for something more glam-bling, esp. since I'm going up to Vegas with 2 buddies in 3 weeks, and it would be kinda fun. But I'm on the fence about getting more gold. Don't know why. nv051- the above applies to the TT suggestion. Already have 2 TT's, but mostly wear SS. Chris - You sum it up perfectly. The harem NEEDS a GMT. They're screaming for one. Can they be denied? I don't think so. Hotrod- A good idea. The new Turnographs look pretty nice, and I'm interested in the idea of an unusual dial, e.g. meteorite. Have not really looked hard at Turnographs in a long time. Am going to a Rolex dealer with probably the biggest selection in L.A. today. Will report back later. Larry. |

Pepsi Bezel Sub sounds like a rarity... if it's legit I'd go for it.

It's beginning to look like a GMT. Now, do I get the black or black & red in the next few weeks, or do I hold off and go with the TT blue and gold. There so many pics of that beauty, I'm starting to think just one more TT...
I know, I know I sd. no more gold, but it's JUST SO INCREDIBLE! |
