Price Increase

They told me at Tourneau today that Rolex is raising all their prices in 2 weeks. Anybody else hear about this? Or could this be more sales shlitt...

for whatever it is worth

back in mid-feb, AD had said the next increase would probably be March 1. Could it be standard sales scare? No idea- maybe.

The last increase in Switzerland was October 2006.

Surely not another one?!

I believe the last price increase in the US was Oct 1, 2006. On April 1 it will be exactly 6 months since their last increase. Does Rolex usually increase twice per year? If so, this could be more than rumor.

Since Rolex often raises prices at less than 1 year intervals, I would also go with something like yr. estimate. The man at Tourneau said they usually increase anywhere from 5% to 15%. Pretty broad range...

Dealers don't know about any increase untill they get a notification. Sounds a bit suspect.

I don't know that I would trust Tourneau with anything.

But I do remember that my AD usually knows about the price increases a couple weeks before. Has anyone called their AD and asked? I was guessing that they wouldn't do an increase till September or October and expected the biggest price hike to be on the stainless Daytona. I would also think they wouldn't raise any prices till after they release the new stuff at Basel. But it's a good thing I just bought my Yachtmaster.

Well, you can effing say that again, good buddy! Honestly speaking, these Rolex Dealer price increases are a real pain! However, I remain ever impressed with the quality of construction evident in this fine marque.

Let's be honest, fellow addicts. The next price increase isn't really going to slow anybody down, is it... Larry.

No but it is frustrating, especially fi you are on the fence about buying right now.

I really got pinched last year. I turned down a black dial Daytona in September only to pay $1000 more for the white dial in March.

I called two of my ADs today; there has been no official announcement from Rolex of any price increase. I feel it is somebody speculating at "T" to sell watches. We know a price increase will come as they do every year, but as of today Rolex has announced nothing. I have issues with the big "T" chain every time I go to Vegas I stay away from the "T" I like the Wynn better.

I doubt some sales person at an AD would know anything about price increases until it actually happens, probably just trying to meet his/her monthly quota.

I wouldn't trust the owner of the store if they tell me.

I agree, it just smells of a sales pitch. However, I was told the same thing both at "T" and Geary's in the past week. Last time Geary's told me, again with 2 weeks notice, it did indeed happen when they said it would. I remember that at the time I was thinking about an Explorer ll at $3700. The next time I went in, ready to buy, they were $4200. Larry.

AMEN my brother! - Wynn's is the bomb. As for the failed car dealers they hire at Tourneau - the "price increase" arm twisting is

I spoke with at least 5 different AD employees this past weekend - none of them gave any hint of a price increase.

I wonder, if I call rolex and tell them that I was shopping for a rolex and T told me that they are going to raise the prices, you think they will verify the information or don't care?
