Brought watch to AD

to have it regulated. They said they need to send it to RSC in New York and it will take up to 8 weeks. Is this about right? Have you waited 8 weeks? Can it be sooner?

All of my RSC/NY complete services have taken half that time. Plus, it's my understanding that most good ADs have the capability of regulating a watch on their premises in a very short time with modern equipment.

Man that seems like a long time. I sent a new GMT back for regulation through my AD and it took 3 1/2 weeks. Is this a new watch? (still under warranty?) For whatever reason some ADs are reluctant to regulate a watch on warranty themselves in the U.S.
I've had pieces that were not under warranty done in a few days (my AD likes to check them for a while) Regulation can be done while you wait if it's not busy.

I've had non-warranty service done by a certified Rolex tech at my AD in about a week.

Its brand new, just got it in Dec. The AD said they could do it there, but they preferred to send out all their Rolex's under warranty out to the RSC. I was really bumbed.
