I won't comment on the watch (although it looks OK to me... I'm not an expert like some here).
timekeeper.co.nz says rolex serial numbers for 1979 are: 5952834 - 6122790 |

Not an expert either...always learning here....
IMO the dial is OK, the watch OK, maybe Stan or John could comment on the clasp/divers extension link. |

Looks like a very nice example of a near complete package (NO green tag - LOL) for this model/year. Watch is probably 1980-81. Code on the clasp (F) denotes approximately 1981.

No expert here : But I have serious reservations about the authenticity of the documents . The punched numbers seem "home made " on a blank document to match the watch .
The watch itself seems OK , but there is an attempt to create a near "complete package" as Mr. Time To Go mentions above . |

Yes , the faulty punching machine is a possibility; The second "6" is the same and it would seem that the top hole on the "1" didn't come out well .
Let's give this seller the benefit of the doubt . This section seems to have some members that adopt " Shoot first ask questions later " policy . Collateral damage ? |

The papers appear 100% genuine. There is one "dot" missing from the top of the one. The punched, number stampings are the correct font style for 1970's circa "punched papers." The punched number fonts were a little different and larger in the 1980's.
(Some of the circa 1980 watches also came with typewritten warranty papers.) The red stamp code on the back of the warranty paper "TROTR" codes to a date of August 12, 1981. The red lettering and fonts are correct for this circa warranty paper. The serial number for the watch is 6167422, which is a 1979 issued serial number. Watches were usually available and sold two to three years after the dated serial number was engraved. The solid link 93150 band is also correct for the late 1970's. The watch looks genuine and all the accessories - boxes and booklets - are of the correct vintage for the watch. Looks to be a nice vintage 1680 Submariner. Should bring close to $7500 on the "bay."
