I might look at a 43mm watch, but 40mm is plenty. I tried on a fifty-fathoms in 45mm and just couldn't see myself wearing it, as much as I like the watch.

There are exceptions, like what Greg mentioned, but IMHO classy takes a wrong turn somewhere beyond 44mm and even that is big for me. I love 40mm that's perfection.
