bezel numbers

What is the correct term for the numbers on a bezel? And what is the function of those numbers?

Well numbers are numbers gmt dial is a 24 hour dial and the dial for a sub is used to calculate bottom time when diving. When preparing for a dive you calculate your botton time according to the Navy dive tables, you know how long you can stay at a specific depth say 60 feet for 60 minutes you rotate the bezel till the arrow on the bezel lines up to the minute hand and it will time out 60 minutes the safety feature is that it is unidirectional so you can never be down longer only shorter time intervals. GMT bezel

The bezel can be used to keep time in a third zone or to determine the time in a second zone. For example, it is 10am EDT. You can set the bezel so the triangle is between the 3 and the 4 . That way the third hand will always point to the PST. Or set the bezel to the time zone that you want as secondary, the hour hand to primary time zone and thus the GMT hand will show GMT time. The hour hand will point ti the time in the secondary time zone.
