Icon6 Green Tag question

I bought my Rolex GMT Master II from an authorized dealer a month ago. I got everything including booklets, warranty card, boxes, etc. except for the green tag. Does it really matter if I did not get the green tag or do I really need to have it?

no...i dont think it really mattered whether you got it or not. i didnt get one when i bought my rolex as well. however, insist on geting the red tag .... it is just as meaningless as the green tag but i'd feel cheated if i didnt get the COSC tag

I would also agree. You buy it brand new from an AD, the least the AD can do is provide everything.

To be honest with you I usually throw away the red and green tags, they mean nothing. Just like the tags you get on your clothes or other items when you buy them. ONlly thing I would be concerned about is the warranty card/paperwork, the instruction and service book and the Original Boxes.

WHATTT !!! Blasphemy....How can you build your Rolex shrine if you don't have all the pieces ?

No more talk of tossing anything that the sacred Crown or "R" word has been lovingly inscribed or pressed upon....

Clearly you don't hold the Hallmark in the proper regard....But I forgive you....You must go to your room and say 10 hail Rolexes....and promise never to think of tossing anything again

I didn't realize I was supposed to get one until much later. I went back to the AD, and found someone had taped it to their paperwork for some unknown reason. My AD, who happens to be their managing director, was a little embarassed, but when he returned it to me I saw it had a decal, osetnsibly from Rolex, containing the model and serial numbers! Based on this, I would say for you to go forth and get that inexpensive little tag. If that decal is indeed from Rolex, the tag is then unique to your watch. He had, in his possession, a whole bag of red COSC hologram tags, so getting a hold of one of them is apparently not as big a deal. But if it is carrying YOUR serial number, I recommend getting and keeping it. JMO, and congrats!!!!!

I know some I met in Asia that never even take the plastic off their Rolex watches. I used to really freak them out when I told them the first thing I did when got home was scrubbed off the Hologram! LOL LOL LOL

Jamie,
You did good....the tag is yours to do with as you please....however, Chad is correct...it is just a tag.

The green plastic tag with the numbers is the inventory tag for the dealer..It contains the necessary data to process the sale without having to disassemble the watch. I can see some dealers taking the tag to ensure their paperwork does not get transposed and the serial and ref are correct....still...it's part of your sales package.

Toss it when you get home....er...I mean...place it lovingly upon your Rolex shrine....

I am forbidden from tossing by local ordinance! Just left the Swimpruf in the box with the COSC tag.

True, the market cares for the watch, box ,booklet/s and warrantee .... the tags and bezel protector is unimportant.

See? More very good info! The "need to have" and "nice to have" are now better delineated for me and anyone else who cares to check it out. This is precisely why I read threads here and then finally joined up!
