Greetings! I'm new and making my first purchase. Opinions please.

Hi! I recently joined as I am making my first Rolex purchase ( SS Daytona white face from AD) tomorrow. I normally wear larger watches (Panerai, Breitling) but have always wanted a Daytona. I happened to walk into an AD and they had one available in the safe. They are holding it for me. This is a G series watch. Is a random series number more desirable or is there any difference?

Welcome to TRF.

No differences in the watches based on these very recent serials.

Enjoy it!

The serial doesn't affect any desirability at all for this particular model. Welcome abroad (nice first post anyway ). Congrats for your first Rollie and wear it in good health! Remember to keep us update with a wristshot!

The black is nice but my Pam 220 is black dial and my Bentley Motors is copper dial. Time to lighten it up.

It only matters to some people, but I wouldn't care. Congrats on your first Rolex.

Welcome to TRF. great model as your first Rolex, hard act to follow, just as a matter of interest, do you happen to know how long your AD. has had the watch, was it ever on display, and if not, why not ?
These questions are just to support some points raised on another thread, re. the availability of the Daytona in certain parts of the world.

X2 There is far too much importance placed on these case stamps when bought new form any AD. Its just a approximation when a case was stamped nothing more.

Beautiful watch, it goes with any occasion.
Take it if it's good deal; no difference regardless it's G or random series.

Daytona is next on my list.

Would that be Rolex or Ferrari Daytona?...
