Faded GMT 16700 Bezel
Hi guys,
I'm thinking about changing out the pepsi bezel on my 16700, its not getting enough wrist time at all at the moment so fancy a change. Is their a market for original faded bezels? it's got a great fade but has a few scratches too as you can see! Just wondering about the value of these. Many thanks. Pic : |

That's a BEAUTIFUL bezel! What do you want to change it to?
There is indeed a market for these bezels! Especially one as gorgeous as yours! Good luck! |

Anton, I would keep that beautiful insert and just buy another. You will he happy to have kept it. Yes there is a market for authentic inserts. I just bought a black (unfaded) insert for my 16750 for approx $100. Nicely faded inserts for 1675s, 16750s, etc can go up to approx $300. I have seen many nice ones posted here in the $200 range. You can search for faded pepsi insert in the for sale section and see them listed.

I would IBID keeping it; while I like the look of the new crisp colors of a NOS bezel (which is what I would replace it with)....there are so many nuts out there who love these faded pieces....plus later on down the line you may want to go back to the vintage "faded" look, and bezel swaps are a quick change at your watchmaker.

The thing is the watch barely gets any wrist time at all now, it's behind my Sub and ExpII for daily wear.
Not sure if I should just hang onto everything and wait for my tastes to change again in a few months as no doubt they will or sell it and use the money for something else. Decisions, decisions. |

I would leave that bezel alone. Alas, it is your watch. Very nice piece!

Funny...I have had the bezel replaced on my 16750 3 times in the 20+ years I have owned it. RSC service was incredible each time. The watch looked brand new. I won't part with it so the new bezel, unfaded and scratch free goes with the rest of the watch. My kids will get it one day and they can do as they see fit. IMHO of course!

Faded insert for my GMT II
Should I put my new one back on - or leave this one?
