My 6534
Oyster Perpetual Date Model: 6534 Serial: 409xxx Stainless Steel It does have black and red numbers in the dates. What year is this watch from? I think it may be 1945. Any ideas how much the watch may be worth? I plan to have the watch restored. It still works- just very slowly. The crown also does not screw down. Dropped off the watch yesterday at a place in Manhattan that several people recommended to me. In 8-10 weeks it should be ready for pick up and I will post some new photos.

Sad news today. I was informed that the watch needs parts and will not be able to be restored to it's former glory. Same news I received from Rolex only a few years ago. Apparently parts for this watch are extremely hard to come by.
The watch was given to me after my grandfather passed away. He played in the Desi Arnaz Orchestra (Lucille Ball Show), and Lawrence Welk's orchestra in the late 60's and 70's. I was really hoping to have the watch working again as a token to my grandfather. Even with it not working I still plan to keep it stored away and pass it along to my kids one day. |
