Home Made Watch

Finally got around to taking a few pics of the watch that Avalon built for me.

They are not the best pics... I swear... I forgot everything about how to use the light.

Anyway, it is built around a higher grade Unitas 6497 pocket watch movement. Basically the same thing that powers the Panerai watches.

It is a large watch, around 44.5 mm. The case, hands, dial, movement, etc were all purchased separately and Avalon spend a couple of weeks assembling everything, lubricating the movement, adjusting the beat rate, etc.

I am quite pleased with the result.
It is a unique watch, basically hand made, and the fact that a friend made it for me renders it priceless.

Chip! Nothing better than a gift and especially a watch given to a friend. How's the time keeping on it?

Wear it in good health!!!

Chip, Home made (yes) but, you state "It is a unique watch, (basically hand made), and the fact that a friend made it for me renders it priceless." Personally I'd not call it "handmade". His displayed abilities as an artisan by assembling it by hand does display his ability to work on or at an assembly line not, that he produced a part from scratch "handmade".

the slected case, dial, hands, and strap/band all compliment the watch so, yes I like the looks of your watch.
