Patek Philippe 5296r

Does anyone own a 5296r and if so, what are your thoughts on the watch vs. the 5196r. Pictures also appreciated.

Thank you

I don't own any of those but I think both are great looking watches in their own way. In all honesty I don't think the size difference is very big (if ever noticeable) but the date window and the dial on the 5296 makes it look a tad sportier in my opinion (as opposed to the very simple dial with a second subdial on the 5196, a display that makes it look very fancy). Both could be great dress watches but I believe I would choose the 5296 if it had to be my only Patek (out of those two, that is) since its look could make it a tad more versatile (by a tad, this one gets the cake as a watch that could also be worn with jeans).

Here are some pictures (not mine)!

I have the 5296r sector dial and I love it.

If it's a choice between the classic dial 5296 and the 5196 I would go for the 5196 in a heartbeat. The 5196 is slightly better proportioned and doesn't have the date window spoiling it. The hands on the classic dial 5296 are also slightly too short for my liking.

The 5196 has a fantastic mix if brushed and polished surfaces which really make the difference. If the lack of a display back isn't a problem then go for it.

The sector dial has them all beat for versatility in my opinion as it goes with jeans as well as a suit. The blued steel hands are to die for!
