Went to Tourneau Today....

Went to Tourneau today in Walt Whitman Mall Long Island NY, I becomes friends with a salesman and he treated me like gold, the store was not busy and there were about 4 salesman working. I had asked my friend to try to get me a white faced 116520 about 8 months ago. It had been since then that I was there. I proudly wore my newly purchased M serial white faced 116520 that I picked up pre owned. He was very happy that I acquired one without his assistance. I showed him my new see through case back and all the salesman were amazed. They started pulling out their loops to admire the in house movt. It was a great day there, never any pressure to buy anything, I left with four different watch catalog/books and asked my friend to try and score me a green Rolex pen. I think he will come through. I did him a favor in the past, either way it was fun to window shop and I got the rest of my Xmas shopping done at other stores in the mall. Thanks!!

Jimmy

Sounds like an awesome time. It is always good to be able to go into an AD and just talk watches and look without some high pressure sales tactics.
Have him get me a pen while he is at it.

Frankly, I have also heard bad stories about Tourneau but I was in NYC a while back and I entered Tourneau on Madison and I had a very good time in there although I clearly stated to the salesman that I was not planning on a purchase.

Every location/customer combination is different...

The Tourneau at Walt Whitman is definitely one of the more pleasant ones, no pressure tactics and the salespeople are actually relatively nice.

Glad you had a good visit! I like your see through caseback! Just curious, is your watch still water pressure secure since the caseback has been installed?

I only go to the Roosevelt field mall one and never had an issue with sales. I had to put a service person in their place once but ever since then they have been nice. I just don't like how often they change sales people. I liked the guy I bought my last 2 watches from but when I went the other day to purchase my Explorer II polar he no longer was there but the manager hooked me up so I'm happy.

also any input on the best stores or websites that is good to buy from?

Thanks for the help

i posted another message that hasn't gone up yet.

I'll just add it here since it says mod has to approve first.

I went to tourneau and saw a pre owned date just blue face stainless steel band. $5050. How much is a good price to buy this for. Can you negotiate the price with tourneau?

I personally was age discriminated in that store, while wearing a day date 2. They told me they don't show pateks to people who can't afford them. I am 27 and they acted like I was not good enough. To DavidSW I stay loyal.

If you were in the position to afford one and were in the market for one, I'd hope you'd go back to that salesperson and show him the sale he missed! What an
