First Post - Just a few Q's
Hey guys i've loved Breitlings for a long time and usually don't wear watches at all.. But i'm single was nerdy for most of my life and have a few extra dollars to throw around for a nice watch... i've been reading posts from 2006 and on, and am getting kinda confused on what i really want now. So here it goes..
I need a nice "everyday" watch that i will take off while working at my restaurant or my other desk job(yes 2 jobs :), (some customers dont like to see you wear nice things) But that can take a beating, meaning that i know how much it costs BUT i really don't care if i nick a doorway and hit the band, and to also not fall apart if i do hit something. No diamonds or blinged out.. but a watch that people will think it's nice.. BUT then say... OHHHHHHH it's a breitling... or ohhh it s a rolex? niiiiice. I figure i'm single have a good job.. why not.. stop spending it on gadgets (chicks don't dig it as much lol) I"m thinking of starting out used as i haven't worn a watch in about 8 years... what do you guys/gals think? |

Check out some Omega Seamasters. They are the best bang for buck, IMHO. See if you can get a gently used one and/or check out Father John's Authorized Dealer.

Hey Mate,
If you look at Omega Seamasters, Rolex Subs and Breitling dive wathces like the Super Ocean, Seawolf etc you will be hard pressed buying any better. The above watches are all dive orientated and are what people on these forums call tool watches. A tool watch is a mid to high range watch developed to take a hiding, be it sports, work or just high activity. Another great idea of the above watches is when they need to be periodically serviced (5-7 years) most of the factory service points can refinish the case etc to make it like it was day one. The best way to pick a watch is to check out what you like in PERSON and then decide what you like best as it comes down to personal taste. Good luck and enjoy your watch. Cheers |

2 year update!! still no watch... BUT i think i'm gonna pull the trigger on a Breitling SuperOcean 44 abyss blue... with metal band.. and also try and pick up a rubber band. Just like the size a little better then the rolex submariner seemed a little small to me. Are there any rolex that are 44-45mm in size?
Whats a good price for this watch? i'm scared to get it online but who are some of the reputable guys on here? thanks! |

Great decision to go used. You will save thousands. I have a Breitling Aerospace which I love. It is priced low for a Breitling but it is quartz and may be a little too subtle for your taste. I love it though. I'd recommend going to a dealer that sells used watches and checking out all the ones that fit your budget (from Rolex, Breitling, Omega etc) and see what you like and what fits your wrist and style well. Once you pick one out that looks good on you, search all reputable stores and this forum for a good deal on a nice example. Good luck with your search!
