Rolex authentication help.

Hello I am looking to buy this rolex from 1998 collection (16234). To your knowledge, based on the dial and this year model. Does the dial looks factory or is it an aftermarket dial?

It looks real, and I think it's called a silver jubilee dial.

My reference doc doesn't include the 16234 so I don't know if it was offered in 1998.

The watchlooks good, and the price seems fair.

I'd take it to a Rolex AD and pay wathever they charge to authenticate it just to be sure; also, the document you'll get will be part of your watch.

the dial was an option however you need to check if the the diamonds are original or aftermarket.

I do not like CL. If you proceed, and you know what you are doing, do a face to face in a bank. Never carry cash -this can be relieved from you in many fashsions.

If it checks out, then withdraw cash from bank.

Trust your instincts. Meet at a Rolex AD, if you can't find one, you can look for a jeweler that sells Rolexes (if you really want that watch). If the seller is intentionally selling a fake as real, he/she wouldn't meet to get it authenticated.

Can't see the link but make sure the seller has the watch you see in the pics if the pics are real.

Pretty sure that it is not a gen jubilee diamond dial. If it were, it would cost what he asking for the watch. The hands should be luminous for that year model. I suppose someone probably changed the dial and the hands. Still a nice looking watch and fairly priced
