Hey all,

Is it me or is it the case that the maxi mk 1, 5513 has more prominently beveled edges than the mk2 through 5? Granted its the earliest and earlier subs had the more prominent bevels but is the distinction really there as much btw the maxi series 1 and the rest?

oldest 5512 cases from the end of the 50s/early 60s are for ex. shorter than later from the 70s or 80s.
also the design of the bevels is not allways the same , but has changed during the years...
bevels from the 50s are btw different .. here is an example of a 6204 ( almost unworn ) from the end of 1953 with case number in the 950.000 range and honeycomb dial :
please note the curved shape at the end of the lug ( on left side ) ..

WOW! Nice point. it takes a really good eye for detail to pick up on some of these tiny little distinctions.

Awesome photo, watch, and information!!! Thanks! So basically from 1970 on they should all be the same in terms of beveling??

watches with sapphire glass ( so from the 80s on ) can show bevels with small differencies from older watches with plastic glass ( for ex. 1665 and 16660 ).
