Serial Number Question re. 5513

Hi all,
(I tried posting earlier, but for some reason it never came up, so I'll try again)

I've been watching this Submariner for a while, and have a few questions that maybe someone here can answer (bear in mind, I'm quite new at this):

1. What would be the reason for the reddish colorization of the hands?

2. From what I've read, shouldn't this 164xxxx serial number make this a few years older?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-ROLE...torefresh=true

Thanks so much!

Andy

The red color comes from a reflection off of something near the camera.

That's moot because you shouldn't be buying off of ebay anyway. Just buy from one of our trusted sellers here. eBay is a minefield unless you REALLY know what you're doing.

Thanks guys, knew I came to the right place. I've only ever dealt w eBay for vintage guitars and basses (both as a buyer and seller) and have had only positive experiences of the last decade, or so. Mostly because I know that world quite well. I figured there were, as in many cases, SOME legit watches there, but wasn't going to dive in without some due diligence.
That said, I will absolutely begin looking at your sellers, here. Thanks for the tip, Joe.
And Gus, thanks again.

The case back reads 1967 which is a more accurate factor in determining the age of the watch. The guides for dating vintage Rolex by the serial numbers is not very accurate. Personally, I always wondered who put this serial number date guides together, since they are not very accurate.
