Why TRF and not RF?

I'm new here, why is this site referred as TRF?

I'm assuming its The Rolex Forums but isn't the forum titled and named just Rolex Forums? So, shouldn't it be just RF?

Am I missing something?

I know it might stand for THE.. but where is it mentioned in the site name or header? Check this

it is NOT www.THErolexforums.com nor the header mentions it.

I think it's because that's what it sounds like out loud.

Like when your spouse says, "Are you on the Rolex Forums again?"

Not, "Are you on Rolex Forums again?"

Welcome!

i agree, have often wondered why a movie simply does not "end." why does it "the end?"

If it truly bothers you I will talk to the boss about changing the name. Give me a little bit of time though.

It's kind of like Cher and Elvis, only the opposite.

How about 'The The Rolex Forums'

like 'The La Trattoria' in Mickey Blue Eyes...

"Michael Felgate (Hugh Grant): Well at least tell me what his restaurant is called, then I can sneak in, in a beard or something.

Gina Vitale (Jeanne Tripplehorn): It's called The La Trattoria.

Michael Felgate: You mean La Trattoria.

Gina Vitale: No.

Michael Felgate: The La Trattoria means The The Trattoria.

Gina Vitale: I know.

Michael Felgate: Interesting. Look I have to go to the La Bathroom, and I'll be back in a sec."
