New Milgauss here
Just saying hello, I purchased a Milgauss GV last week and found my way here. I've had a Tag Aquaracer, that I purchased 12 years ago, so this is a nice step up. I wore the Aquaracer everyday, so it's taken a beating and never missed a beat. I plan on sending it in for it's first ever service soon.
I have a few general maintenance questions that I will post in other sections, but I'll post them here if anyone wants to chime in, I'd appreciate it. I plan on getting it serviced by Rolex every five years or so, and will do my best to keep it looking and running well in between. I plan on getting some Cape Cod cloths for light cleaning and polishing, should I mask of the brushed sections on the band and the sapphire? I ordered some Veraet watch cleaner for cleaning as well, is there anything else I need besides this, Cape Cod cloths, and some microfiber towels(basically, any other must haves)?? Thanks, looking forward to this forum! |

Welcome to the forum! On your watch, I would leave the light polishing to a professional. Re finishing a bracelet with pcl can be a challenge, but a watchmaker can make short work of it, and most only charge 75$ or so. If it was a submariner bracelet without pcl, then I would say get some green scotch bright pads and go for it.

Beware that too much polishing with Cape Cod cloths can take those sharp, crisp factory edges off the case and not only devalue your watch but make it look like a very used watch....

Welcome to TRF and agree with Steve the only time any Rolex watch needs any polishing is at normal routine service time. Now in between just wash in soap and water dry in any clean cotton type cloth, that's all any Rolex watch wants, no need for any foo foo sprays or special cloths..

Welcome member!
As already stated above, warm water + ammonia-free mild soap will do the trick, pat it dry with a soft clean cloth and you're good to go. Regards |
