028 or 026?

I have a 028 but am thinking of making an exchange for a 026, knowing that I have a 233 and 82, what do you think would be better to complete the collection? Knowing that it's watches that I intend to wear, I haven't worn the 028 yet but feel the need to wear a third Pam.

The 028 is more original, being a limited edition of the earlier model 28A and 28B, the 3 have a few differences.

The 26 and 28 are both DLC, the first hand wound and the second auto.

Of course the 26 is basically the same watch as my 82, just black and destro, but seems to me to be more in the Panerai classic DNA style.

I put the 2 photos but am not sure they will be visible, if not here are the 2 links to the pages on the Panerai site for these 2 models. The original strap for each are not great but with a brown leather strap or the OEM rubber strap the 28 looks better.

Thanks for your advice

I'd trade it for the 026 (although it will probably make you wish you hadn't let go of your 217... ).

Honestly? Sell the 026, get the 16600. Then, sit tight ...until fate brings you together with your grail 036...

26 over 28 for your collection, though the 28 is more unique....

But, I like Serge's idea.

I don't regret the 217 it was really too big for me, if it was in 44mm it would be at my wrist and a 026 would be not a topic, for the 036 the only way would be to find one without papers and box, and have it authenticated, the price if full set and close to new condition being around 20.000 euros it's maybe too much, so probably I will never have one.

Yes the 28 is more unique in it's style than the 026, on chrono 24 only one for sale, whereas there are more than 12 Pams 026. For me it's a clear sign of higher collectibility and demand if people are holding on to them, even if the 026 may be nicer, cleaner dial it's very classic Panerai, just destro and DLC, the mechanism also is better on the 28.

When I bought the 28, for a very good price seeing that I bought the 233 dot from the same guy 1 month before, he made me a 10% discount, I could have had the 26 also unworn and full set for 200 euros more, just had to go to Belgium whereas the 28 was in Paris, it was my second Pam after the 233 and maybe at that time I wasn't too much into the Pam simplicity, but I did hesitate, if he hadn't done me that discount I definitely would have the 26.

For the Rolex since I have a sub C still hesitating, they are awfully close…

Anyways the shop which was ok for the exchange has given no news since 4 days when they were supposed to get back to me on wenesday, so am waiting to see what happens on that side.

Anyways thanks for your advices, if anyone has anymore don't hesitate to put it.

I decided to keep the 28, it´s much more original than the 26, i love the 26 but basically it´s a destro in DLC, whereas the 28 is a unique pam, plus it´s automatic so i will have 2 autos and 2 manual, sub and 28 auto, 233 and 82 manual.

Just bought a camera today, will try to make a few wrist shots tomorrow, with black strap it´s not great but with brown Kodiak strap it´s much nicer...

Thanks, ou merci puisque tu es de Paris

They aren't great because taken with my ipad, can't get the wifi on the camera to work and my computer is broken, but they aren't so awfull...

Also it seems to me that there must be much less replicas of the 28 than of the 26, it's more complicated with the power reserve...

It's always amazed me why the 28 was never that popular. I know they did sell too well, wish if kept mine but I had to slim my collection down

Probably because it doesn't have the Pam "dna", but decided to keep mine, it's very original and a 26 would basically be like my 82, black, destro and dlc, so very close in a way, seems to me for my collection these 3 are just right...
