I would have him banned with a comment 1/10 as extreme.

Now as we all know tz is a little looser when it comes to moderating, stuff gets bad occasionally. But this is by far the most disgusting reply I have ever seen (and I have seen some bad ones posted towards me due to a lack of understanding) I am pretty sure the mods will do something. But just the fact that someone would say those things like that is outrageous.

What a creep! He's got alot of nerve calling anyone a discrace. I'm sure he's not doing his oldman too proud with a response like that.
You're right, Roger. It does make you really appreciate this place. No matter what was posted it would never get a reply like that from the people here!

I was too late. Apparently, the post in question was deleted before I got there. I guess it must have been really obnoxious because all the others seem to be quite supportive of the young lady in question.

ya it got deleted.

Basically the guy said that her father did not instill any good values in her, and said that she makes him sick.

It was really bad, I am glad that the mods worked fast on that one. I hope the guy got banned!

Who goes around saying crap to someone who wants to buy her father something she feels that he deserves?

Man its so bad the poor relationships some have with their families that they dont see what others want to do for theirs. :(

Maybe we should invite the young lady over here where she would be treated with respect. That is after JJ had eked a couple of pictures out of her.

Thinking about it makes my blood boil. Who goes and talks like that. All the girl wanted was to buy her dad something nice, as you guys can all read from her post her father seems like a guy who has worked hard all his life and deserves a treat.

But then this bozo comes along and starts hammering her for being materialistic and how her father would be ashamed of her blah blah blah. and that her post makes him sick.

a big middle finger goes to that jerk!!! If I see that person register here INSTANT BAN no questions asked. It will be a very cold day in paradise the day we let the likes of him come in here.

Personally, I don't believe that story at all.

One, it's too much of a story book tale.

Second, would someone who bought their father a Rolex to wear 'with his Payless shoes and Kmart jeans' out of appreciation for what he means to her be asking about discounts?

George

I think we should give people the benefit of the doubt, but do not think George is way off base either. A healthy dose of skeptisism is good. Sad that the world has come to that, but it is true.

As for the girl, great gesture, and if it is a true story, very sweet daughter. The father should feel very lucky.

I did not get a chance to read the post before it was deleted. Sad some of the gall people have to say such crap. I'm glad that guy will never post here.

sorry I still fail to see the reasoning. In what way or form can her story possibly hurt us that we should keep our guard up? Sorry maybe I am reading your comments wrong.

No Roger, I totally agree with you! Give her the benefit of the doubt because it will in no way affect us, unless it is to remember to treat our parents nicely.

I only say that it is not all bad to have a little skeptisism. In this case it is a good story with a fuzzy warm feeling. No worries.
