Your 5 must have vintage Rolex for under $10k
I'm trying to put together my mental watch box once I start adding in some vintage pieces. I'm curious if I'm missing out on something I'd love to add, so I'm asking you all for your list of 5 vintage rolexes you can pretty much buy today for under $10k.
I think mine at the moment are: 1. 1680 Red Sub 2. 1675 GMT Gilt 3. 5513 Meters First 4. Root beer? 5. Nipple dial gold sub?

Depends also if you want it with box and paper. Under 10k€ is most of the time possible for each however, you always need to double check if you buy a full real one. Too good price is not always the best choice

I'd rather have 4 watches at 12,500 or 3 at 15,000 to ensure they're in mint condition.

To run with the incorrect wording, when was the last time it was possible to buy those 5 collectively for under $10K... In 1977, new 18K Sub and Root Beer would have taken up only half the budget. On the used market you could probably have put together the whole collection sometime since then unless the solid gold queers the deal. Thoughts... the data is out there in auction records.

Good point, having just picked up a 18038, in doing research the 1803 was a lovely piece with those cool pie pan dials, totally within budget too!

10k E sure...10k USD (original poster is NY) certainly not going to get a 16808 even with the later dial for 10k USD with a bracelet...unless it's polished to tooth picks.

For myself, it would be
1601 Rose Gold w/ band (white gold would be even better, but that's more than $10K) 16660 matte w/ box&papers 3065 SS/Rose with California dial 1490 multi color Prince 16622 Yachtmaster |
