New Rolex service Bracelet or old used bracelet

Hi all

Would you go to Rolex Service Centre to get a new service bracelet 78360 instead of buying a used 7836 for an early 1970s 1655? The concerns over a used 7836 are mainly the authenticity, service history and the remaining life of the bracelet etc etc..

Does Rolex Service Bracelet have any re-sale value if the service Bracelet needs to be sold in the future?

Thanks for thought!

Cheers
S

A 78360 is an updated version of the 7836 but it's not just a"service bracelet," and yes they have lots of value. : thumbsup: Both types of bracelets are appealing in their own way. You should be able to sell either one for about what you pay for it, so just go with the bracelet you like more. There is no wrong decision here.

It's almost like tires on a vintage car. Sure, you could track down a cool set of the originals, but there's nothing wrong with a new, updated set, especially if you're going to use the car, I mean watch, a lot.

7836 and 78360 have different feeling on your wrist. I actually prefer to wear my 1655 on a solid link bracelet (78360), but I do have 7836 which I occasionally put on that watch to experience 'the original' configuration. I am not aware of any specific 'service' bands, I believe they are the same bands used on regular Rolex watches, as such, yes, they do have value.

I would get a used one and send to Michael Young.
