Opinions on this weird 6610 Explorer
Why is the dial like this? Never seen one like this for the 6610 before, especially the T SWISS T part. It must be a serviced dial I suppose, because all 6610s come with gilt dials such as this: Also, how would this affect its value? |

It's a service dial/1016 dial. It'd be much less than it's gilt chapter ring counterpart

Hi,
Recognise the picture from the forum the seller posted it on.. He did state that it is a service dial and hands, and that's reflected in the very cheap price.. A 6610 with the original dial on would cost more than 3 times that.. |

Way out of my swimlane but isn't T SWISS T just Tudor?
I know if it were a Tudor with: SWISS T < 25 I would be cautioning against it (like the 7924 on EEEEvilbay).

That's my watch for sale. Yes it is a rare early 60's service dial hence the t swiss t.
It is not 1016 dial, 1016 diall will not fit without some engineering. Furthermore, the watch is authenticated by RSC Singapore. No recon or aftermarket parts. |

Thoughts on this 6610 *original dial*
Hi All,
I am new to the forum. Please forgive me in advance if I'm posting in the wrong place or not following appropriate forum etiquette. I am very much interested in purchasing a vintage 6610. I have found this one with "Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified" as the script at 6 o'clock. I understand that this was native to the 1016 while 6610s are known to read "Officially Certified Chronometer." This has been marketed to me by a reputable vintage Rolex dealer as the original dial. Does anyone know whether it's possible for a 6610 to have this dial? Thanks! |

yes it's a service 6610 dial ...
as it'obvious that a 1016 dial is absolutely not interchangeable ( feet are in a different position ).
about the production time : indexes have a very high lenght so that we could call it " radial " ; so due to the matt finish we can estimate the same production time of radial matt dials for 1675 , thus the middle of the 70s. in any case this dial is not really common : very few seen in all these years. |
