Omega Boutique

I just wanted to share a positive experience I had at an omega boutique this afternoon. I walked in and the place was empty so as expected I was greeted right away and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I was actually interested in seeing the PO liquid metal 42mm titanium which they had in stock. As I started talking to the guy it turns out he was the tech and not a salesman so he was very knowledgeable about everything and very helpful. He must have showed me 10+ watches with no pressure to buy. After a few min the sales guys came out from the back (guessing they were on break) and joined in on the conversation we were having. I must have spent an hour talking to these guys about omega movements and new omega releases this yr. The tech proceeds to show me the speedmaster mark II re issue and I must say that I really liked the racing dial in person. I told the guy that I had just seen an original for sale here on TRF and that if I went and bought it it would be their fault. Next thing you know I'm PMing the seller on TRF and making the deal! I wasn't planning on buying anything this year since I am saving for an explorer II or a ND SubC. Oh well I can't wait til my mark II gets here, most impulsive watch purchase I've made so far. I hope it lives up to my expectations. I will head back to the boutique next week to show them the damage they caused. Haha.

Great Story! Buying at the Boutique must be a lot more money.

Boutique refused to give any discount on msrp. Re issue of mark II was not to bad at 6200 but I preferred the look of the original.

I love Omegas but never would pay 6200.00 for the new Mk II.. Nice watch but still has a dated look. Bought my original back in 70 while on R&R in Hawaii for 295.00. That was a lot of money for a Private back then..

The Omega boutiques I've visited have all had top notch service and sales people. Just went in to the one located in The Beverly Center here in LA and was offered beverages, books galore and a free minor watch cleaning.

I'm not a fan of Omega, or as Aussies say, O mee ga, but this watch really caught my attention. It is a beauty and would definitely tempt me. Congrats.

Just got back from the omega boutique where they did a full checkup on my new Mark II and they said everything looked great. They really loved seeing an original MKII in such great shape and even gave me a small case to take the watch home. All for free.
