You know what's funny is that it looks like the real McCoy. It probably just does not run as it has been beat to death by years of abuse and lack of service. I don't think he knows what he's got.

Any others agree?

I was thinking the same thing, Terry. It could be a fairly old model.

I recall having lunch with one of my young associates one day and he was shocked that not all watches were battery operated. He was amazed when I showed him the exhibition back on my Glycine.

I'm almost tempted to bid on it to see if I could really get a bargain.

It looks decent, but if it's not working, the movement may have problems. Budget in another $500-1k for service cost.

It didn't. Especially that band. The quartz watch is very different. This is a first generation $10 fake.

The guy had 765 deals on Ebay! I am pretty sure he knows what a Rolex is and how much they are worth! I think he knows that it is a fake! On the other hand, it looks like he is trying to pry the caseback open with a knife by the look of the scratches!

All of his sales are in the penny ante range. Nothing I saw was over $50.

It may be the real deal but with a Jubilee bracelet someone put on it. Obviously, this seller is not the original owner.

Was a DayDate ever made in SS? I thought they were all Gold, White Gold, and Platinum.

It also says perpetual on the dial. Perpetual = mechanical. The DayDate Quartz says Quartz on the dial.

yes but I think since it isnt running he just thinks the battery is dead.it probably starts ticking when he moves it around(hence the perpetual)but he just doesnt get it..
I dont know-I am torn on this one.

The font on the dial looks way off. Something tells me that this watch is fake.

Now I am really tempted to jump in on this one! Just maybe to satisfy my curiousity! Could be a win win situation though.....or not!

It's at 325 with minutes to go. Let's check back on this one in a week or so to see the feedback. As far as I know Rolex never made a SS DayDate. This one is SS, with brushed lugs, and holes.
