6610 on the horizon. Any red flags?

A guy I have previously purchased from just got in this watch. I've always loved these early Explorers but I just don't know enough about them. He says it's a '58 and that the dial is a service dial. He also says the papers are with the watch.
When I go check it out is there anything I should look for that might be a red flag that things are not good with this watch? Is there anything you can tell just from the photo?
I am starting to really enjoy this forum and find myself checking it throughout the day. Thanks in advance to anyone that can offer any help.

Oh boy. I just spent a couple of hours looking into how hard it would be to track down a proper dial. It appears the value is pretty much shot on this watch unless I can couple it with the right dial. It also appears that the asking is way above what the market would support. I wonder if this was someone's project that they gave up on.
I was closer with the no papers gilt dial I saw a few weeks ago on a proper bracelet for only 1.5k more.

I'm not sure about the dial...Wondering if it is indeed refinished, not a service dial at all. But you seem to have ruled it out in any case!

Protruding springbar at top left is a red flag.

Dial doesn't look good at all. Not service - refinish. Hands look dodgy. The spring bar is no big issue as it looks like they have fitted the wrong type rather than the shorter explorer bar.

Also crown should be brevet type of original. Dial, hands and crowns are virtually unobtainable so unless you want the watch as it is id pass

Thanks to all. It does look like this watch is the kind of thing that I'd spend the next 10 years trying to restore to original glory along with the rest of the 6610 owners.
This forum is truly fantastic.
