Is this 6444 Rolex Real or Fake?
Hey All,
I have the chance to buy a 6444 rolex with a SN: of 115***. Everything looks correct but I need your help. Please tell me if this is legit and what you would pay for it. It was also appraised at a local prestigious jeweler in town for over 2k. Thanks for looking, |

No, everything does not look correct..
That appraisal is of no value at all. The only "appraisal" that would have any validity is one that you specifically commission from a vetted appraiser.

I think what he's trying to tell you is that the watch is not 100% correct and or not all original...would I be correct Larry? Or is it in fact just a fake all together?
In my unprofessional opinion I do see some things that appear to be right and others that are not... |

The picture of the movement is too bad to say anything except that it is similar to what you may expect. The OP said that "everything looks correct". My comment was simply that there is plenty there that is not correct.

Hi: Actually, I trust that Tools' opinion is as close to professional as you are likely to get. I would suggest you keep looking.

Dial is poorly redone, movement could be cleaner, no original bracelet. would have to be around $500 for me to consider it.
a replacement rolex precision dial will run you $100-200. and you would probably want to replace hands since the indices on the dial you would be able to find would not match the original dial from the 50's. unless you got one in poor condition. |
