Congrats in advance. The SDc is the only modern diver in the Rolex line-up, along with the DSSD, that has a proper dive-extension on the bracelet.

I think the 116600 is certainly the nicest Modern Rolex out there...

I bought one, BNIB and wore it every sinlge day for 5 months...

I just sold it...

It seemed that the longer I had it, the more I felt this pull to go back to the older style case and bezel...

I was very taken with it at first, but the wider lugs and crown guards, the Maxi dial, the Ceramic bezel, all the things that people rave about, in the end, just didn't do it for me...It all felt a bit "over the top"...???

I do think the bracelet is a marvel of engineering...

Maybe part of it is because I have been wearing the older style watches for so many many years...

Maybe the new stuff just takes more getting used to...???

Either way, as much as I liked it, and I did...It just wasn't for me...

just offering my experience in response to the OPs question.

Love the SDC along with all its improvements over its predecessor also agree both are beautifully engineered, really an amazing achievement.

As the modern watches go, I think the 116600 is tops...

I guess in the end I'm just an old school guy at heart...

I ended up going back to a plane and simple 14060M...

One doesn't have to exclude the other. I love the SDc, it is my 24/7/365 watch. I bring out the vintage every now and then, but it is not what I bring on a business trip, playing with the kids in the park, going diving/snorkeling, etc.

I've had a couple of Two Liners over the years...Thought I would try a Four Liner for a change...

Reminds me of the very first Vintage Piece (5512) I bought many many years ago...

After a busy last few weeks, I finally got a chance to pull the trigger on a 116600. I have the tracking number in hand, and the watch will be here tomorrow morning. Also, a special thanks to DavidSW, who has helped me source all of my modern 'daily wearers', the AP 15202ST, 116710BLNR, and now the 116600.

Thanks to all who posted in this thread offering up advice and wrist shots, it is much appreciated.

That's why I got one - has all the 5512 DNA but a little newer and stable, I love my 14060M

But wait a minute - I'm straying from the topic. The SDC is a fantastic watch, I had one for a while, ended up flipping it because I'm fickle as all get out. I've often thought of replacing it (it's on a short list of watches I would buy again) - go for it!

I think it would be a great addition for you....got the original myself and after the new YMII in SS and a moded 114060 with the SDc bezel I'll get this one....then off to vintage-land!

What an awesome trio you've got there, bud. Hopefully you'll find that perfect 16610LV to join the group.
