Thinking of adding a Tudor

I might want to wait til the new in-house movement comes out, as I do like that blue Pelagos. But right now I'm considering the blue Black Bay and the white Fast Rider. Also, thinking modern Tudor. I don't want to spend a lot, so must be in the 3k- 3.5k - ish ballpark.
I just sold my white Daytona (loved it, but didn't want to tie up 10k in one watch). I still have my trusty 114060, which stays.
Other thoughts that have come and gone, is adding a Panerai. But for my price range it would be eta only (in which case, I think Tudor or Omega should trump the Pam).
How do you Tudor owners like your watches? Is strap changing easy? ( I would prefer to wear on a strap or leather than the steel).

I bought a Black Bay (red bezel) on leather last year.

It was an impulse buy and I should have thought about it more.

I didn't 't like the case, I found it too bulky. I hated the faux distressed leather and overall I was underwhelmed with the watch itself.

I sold it after a month and was able to recoup my money so no loss, but I don't think I will buy another Tudor anytime soon.

Tudor makes some nice stuff, but as mjm800 implied, think carefully. Flipping watches is a hassle and if you don't buy right you could lose $ too.

Lots of great Tudor watches out there...how about a big block, there are several dial variations, bezels.

I love Tudor. The black bay is a great watch. Wears similar to a sub but adds a little color.

I don't like the snowflake hands with round indices.

Or the rose logo.

Or that the hands move counterclockwise when the crown is turned clockwise.

Just my $.02; I know if I bought one it would be on the chopping block fast.

I have three Tudors that I wear pretty much constantly, on rotation (Ranger, BB and THC), and eight Rolexes that get very little wrist time. But if nothing really sings to you, then don't get one.

Very nice, Adam. I'm the same - the Tudors get more wrist time than the Rolexes.

My vote goes to a Big Block too. Super-easy to swap among bracelet/straps/natos due to the lugholes. A very versatile watch.

I always wanted a blue-ish watch. When I saw the article on Tudor Montecarlo and the new Heritage Chrono, I liked it so much I had to have it. The watch arrived early this week and I was wearing it everyday. i love the design of the watch but so far I have some reservation about its quality and value.

Thanks for the responses guys. I checked out some Tudors today at the AD. I wasn't blown away, so I think I'll reconsider my next choice.

Love mine! It gets more wrist time than my Explorer and speedy pro. Quality is exactly the same from what I've seen last 15 years. But that may be because besides the movement it is a Rolex, at least for mine anyway.
I think if it's a look you like you will wear it and enjoy it, unless you are a brand snob, then the novalty may wear of quick.
They are made on par with Rolex, vintage and modern alike, so the quality is there, just not the name.
They are amazing watches IMHO and I would never part with mine.

It sounds like you want a Tudor mostly because of the price. Personally, I'd pass as modern Tudor is one of the least interesting brands to me.

If you want to stay in the 3.5k range, why not a Speedy Pro? It would fill the Daytona void nicely.

I love my Ranger-especially on the camo fabric strap. It get equal time to a polar Explorer II. You might also look at a lightly used Omega Aqua Terra which you should easily be able to pick up within your budget.

Tudor make a great alternative to the Rolex brand and at a great price.
I love them, particularly the current line up.

How bout tiger chrono? Due to the tiger writing, prices r very reasonable, about 2k without b&p, which is a really good deal if u can live with the "tiger".

I think it would be a good fit to go from the Daytona to a big Block. I happened to go the other way. Gives you great wrist presence, same chrono features and a date function to boot, and does not tie up all that cash........I agree the ones without Tigers name is a better choice, it is the sole reason i shed mine.....
