DD meteorite dial in white gold?
Hi all. A couple of months back I pulled the trigger on my fantasy Rolex purchase, a white gold day date with baguettes bezel and meteorite dial. It's still being made, latest estimate for delivery is end of the month, but my dealer has no better idea than that. I kinda bought it blind, the closest I could find to it was the old-style meteorite dial in the London Bond Street boutique. The watch is basically as pictured, this is the old-style two-pear diamonds design. Does anyone have any pics of the new-style 8+2 diamonds meteorite dial in white gold?

I'll post pics, for sure. The crap I've had to go through already, replacing locks in the apartment, installing a specially-rated safe, and even then I should apparently consider myself lucky to find any insurer that will cover me for it - had I known what a ballache it'd be before I did it, I'd... nah, of course I would have done it anyway :-) I was in the London RSC on Friday dropping off my Datejust for a service, and I mentioned to the assistant I was waiting for it, she said her favourite dial is the meteorite but rarely sees it so wants me to bring it in to show them all!

I don't know that I've ever seen the meteorite dial on anything but a Daytona.
Love the dial, but not crazy about the diamonds. |

It's not as over-the-top as you'd think. There's two types of bezel, one with brilliants, one with baguettes. The brilliants is too blingy. The baguettes are almost subtle. They had both in the Bond Street boutique in March. I have a photo of me with the baguettes on my wrist, attached - it's only in hindsight I can see it's still got the plastic covering on it!
Still no pics of the "Meteorite A" aka 8+2 dial, then? The one in the pic is the "Meteorite 2BR". I've found a pic of the "Meteorite A" in yellow gold. But not in white. Well, except the pic in the dealer catalogue. Still wanna see one in the wild. |
