Quick-changing date on the GMT Master II.
Hi there,
I have a question about a recently acquired 16710. I'm a long time Sub user, but GMT's with jumping hands are completely new to me. I know that the jumping hand is also intended to be used as a quick-set for the date, and it is clear that the date will advance when I adjust the 12Hs hand for a time ahead of the "home" time and move past midnight. But what about the date change when I'm traveling west ? I tried and see that the date will indeed go back (not quick-change, though) when I set the 12Hs hand back past midnight, but is the movement really prepared for this or is this something that should be avoided ? Thanks for your insight. |

Never mind, guys.
Just found my answer in the booklet that comes with the watch. It is actually one of the examples given for the GMT-II. So I'd guess it is perfectly fine to make the date jump back by adjusting the 12Hs hand back and past midnight. Thanks all the same. |

Yep, both ways no problemo. BTW, because it doesn't change the date as efficiently as say on the Sub, I refer to it as quasi-quick set.
