Sub Crown Stuck - Can't set time or date

I have a feeling I know the answer but I thought I'd check in with the wisdom of the forum. I did some googling on "Crown stuck can't set time" and I did find an old thread on this forum with someone having a similar issue. It resolved itself by the time the thread ended. Mine hasn't.

Purchased this watch about a month ago from a local, high volume, Rolex exchange. About a month before my purchase the watch was serviced, checked over and polished by a local RSC. The watch is flawless in appearance and was flawless in function over the first month. It runs perfectly and well within spec gaining about a second a day. A few days ago I was trying to change the time and had a difficult time pulling the crown out to the last position to set the time. I screwed and unscrewed it a few times, corrected the time and went on my merry way.

Decided to wear the sub again today after a week and went to correct the time and no go. The crown will extend to the winding position very easily and JUST past it but not enough to get the date to change. It will literally just go past where you can wind the watch but not change the date and of course not far enough to change the time. I have included a picture with the crown as extended as possible.

I suspect the answer is to take it back to where I bought it and have them deal with the RSC. I have called them it and that is exactly what they will do without issue. It would save me a great deal of time if I didn't have to take the watch back so I thought I would ask if there is another remedy. I'm pretty sure there is not as I didn't get a lot of answers while searching on the internet. I will happily defer the wisdom of the forum. I have included a picture of the watch with the crown in as fully extended position as it will go.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Even if there is a simple self remedy, it may be short lived. I would let the pros take care of it now as they seem to be happy to do it. If you "fix" it yourself and the problem crops up in the future, they may not be as helpful. Beautiful watch by the way.

Yea, you're right. It's going to go back tomorrow. The thread I found on here http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=212814 forum member ict_guy pulled on it until it clicked. For the reasons you stated above I was hesitant to start yanking on it as I believe I've applied reasonable pressure and it hasn't moved.

Just thought I'd ask in case there was an accepted fix and I could save myself a few hours of driving in traffic. I didn't believe there would be a home fix because I couldn't find much information on this kind of situation. Never hurts to ask though as the amount of knowledge here is incredible. No biggie, couple hours of driving and the Daytona gets more wrist time while this sub gets fixed, properly!

Took the watch in this morning and was told "Yep, you're right you can't set the time" after they fiddled with it a bit. Also asked them to take a look at the cyclops as the mag on it in my opinion is low. It's genuine of course I've just seen a few threads on this forum with low magnification cyclops from Rolex. I'll follow up on what was wrong with the crown in case anyone ever has to search this problem. Not really worried about the cyclops as I picked this one from several options but my curiosity has been piqued. Since it's in Rolex's hands again might as well ask.
