Quid is cockney for the £ (I think!!).....and I also think 2 US$ = 1£.

As above- A quid is just slang for one pound (GBP or pound Sterling) which is approx $2 US

that is what I thought.its kind of like here in the states if something was 50 dollars we might say 50 bucks as well.very good,thank you for the confirmation.
