junk ladies Rolex quartz
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-/33162...item4d3663bc3a
reported and message sent [text] Unfortunately you have a fake/counterfeit/replica Rolex. If you have any doubts, compare the watch with images at rolex.com. It is against eBay policy (and US law) to sell counterfeit/replica items. It doesn't matter if you claim that it's real, that it's not real, or that you don't know. Here is the text from the eBay policy: "We don't allow replicas, counterfeit items, or unauthorized copies to be listed on eBay. " Please cancel the auction. |

I've had two exchanges with a pleasant but skeptical seller who wants to believe it's a Rolex. Would any one else care to nicely say "sorry, it's a fake..."?

I'll give it a run and since you sd they were polite I'll tone down the rhetoric in my standard email. It's a little harsh for someone who may really believe they have a real product.

In this case, I think it's just a lack of knowledge and an understandable hope that they bought/received/inherited/found a famous watch.
Nobody from this forum would think this watch is a real Rolex. However, most people are from the Timex/Citizen/Seiko universe and have never been to an AD, never tried on a Rolex, and only have a vague idea that Rolex is a famous, expensive watch. Also, most people are unaware of the widespread counterfeiting of Rolexes, so they trustingly assume that it is a Rolex because Rolex is printed on the dial. I don't get mad at folks selling an obvious un-Rolex for $200. They usually don't know anything. I do get mad at the fraudsters selling a convincing copy of a $10,000 watch for "only $3,000." |
