New here and new to Rolex
Hello everyone.
My dad left me, I'm assuming, a 20+ year old men's Rolex. It hasn't been serviced in probably 15 years and has all original parts. I am trying to get more information on this watch. I know that he purchased it overseas in Saudi Arabia while he was working but don't have any other history on it. It is a Datejust two toned with a black pyramid face. I know that I'm supposed to take the band off to find the number on the watch, but don't have a tool to do it at my house. Is there a way to look up the watch without taking it somewhere to have them take it apart? Thanks for any help that you may have. Completely clueless when it comes to watches |

Yes, please do not try anything at home, it may damage part of the watch.. FYI though, a few local jewelers that you feel comfortable going to, may take off the band free of charge, read you the serial number and that will give you a good idea of the year produced and therefore possible value

Ok. I will definitely ask around for a good jeweler in my area.
It definitely needs a good cleaning and has a few scratches on the face. |

Welcome and enjoy the watch your dad left you, I use a round wood toothpick to push in the spring bars on mine, you can stick one end in a wine cork so you don't risk it going into your hand.
